Plant Growth Regulators are Less Effective on Weeds than on Bermudagrass

Weeds generally invade weakened or open areas within turf and once established, they compete with turfgrass for available resources. Turfgrass growth is inhibited when PGRs are applied and existing weeds may gain an advantage. Our research goals were to better understand this effect by comparing the differences of PGR-treated weeds with PGR-treated Tifway bermudagrass turf.
