    Experience:

My name is Brent Neil Jackson, I am a senior at Clemson University Majoring in turf management, this past summer I worked took an internship at the club at Seabrook Island, SC.  The club at Seabrook is a 36 Hole championship golf facility located on Seabrook Island just 3O minutes South of Charleston, SC.   In 1999 John B. Lafoy redesigned "Crooked Oaks", and with a 2.1 million dollar renovation project they installed USGA regulation “Crenshaw” bent greens.  The “Club” offered me a unique opportunity to learn and experience the management practices involved with maintaining bent greens in Charleston. I worked for two months on the bent greens on "Crooked Oaks".  While working on "Crooked Oaks" I was involved in many levels of tasks.  A few of my tasks included spraying greens, formulating herbicide rates, aerifying greens, and watching over the bent greens.  For one month of the internship I worked on "Ocean Winds".  On “Ocean Winds” I experienced some of the same responsibilities.  One of the differences between the two course was the chance to work on TifDwarf greens directly on the coast.  The Club at Seabrook gave me a one of a kind chance to learn and experience two completely different styles of management at one location.  So if you are interested in a fun and educational summer then you should really give The Club at Seabrook a chance.
