State Fair CLEMSON - Four-H'ers got a chance to demonstrate their knowledge, presentation and food preparation skills at the 2000 S.C. State Fair Dairy Foods, Eggonomics and Breads Bakeoff contests. Each county was eligible to enter one 4-H club member in each contest at the cloverleaf, junior and senior levels. The Dairy Foods senior division winners were: first place, Towanda Gregg of Marion County; second, April Heyward of Charleston County; and third, Cerissa Henderson of Colleton County. Junior Dairy Foods winners were: first, Brittany Turnipseed of Richland County; second, Sabrina Flemming of Florence County; and third, Kathryn Keller of York County. Cloverleaf Dairy Foods winners were: first, Lindsay Kyzer of Saluda County; second, Madeline Travelle of Berkeley County; and third, Lindsay Ann Curgan of Williamsburg County. The Eggonomics senior division winners were: first, Winn Dadds of Marion County; second, Meghan Pecks of Lexington County; and third, Alexis Calloway of Colleton County. Junior Eggonomics winners were: first, Allison Kyzer of Saluda County; second, Kathryn Keller of York County; and third, Katie Cooper of Lexington County. Cloverleaf Eggonomics winners were: first, Ben Weigold of Lexington County; second, Robin Booth of Richland County; and third, Rebecca Keller of York County. The Breads Bakeoff senior division winners were: first, Roger Glenn of Chester County and Anne Marie Martin of Anderson County; second, Faith Isreal of Marion County; and third, Jessica Weeks of Richland County. Junior Breads Bakeoff winners were: first, Katie Lloyd of Marion County; second, Heather Booth of Richland County; and third, Samantha Ray of Kershaw County. Cloverleaf Breads Bakeoff winners were: first, Jason Skaggs of Kershaw County; second, Courtney Lake of Saluda County; and third, Katelin Hinnant of York County and Ashley Isreal of Marion County. The White Lily Foods Company sponsored the Breads Bakeoff, the S.C. Poultry Federation sponsored the Eggonomics contest and the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association sponsored the Dairy Foods contest. First place winners were awarded $100 U.S. Savings Bonds.
