OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this Institute are to engage the teachers in the following basic areas of calculus.
1. Review of Selected AP Calculus AB Topics
2. Techniques of Antidifferentiation : Substitution of Variables, By Parts, Simple Partial Fraction Decomposition
3. L’Hospital’s Rule : Determining Limits, Improper Integrals
4. Differential Equations: Numerical Solutions using Euler’s method,
logistic differential
equations and modeling
5. Parametric, Polar, and Vector Functions: analysis of planar curves, derivatives, length of a curve, area
6. Polynomial Approximations and Series: Concept of series, series of constants,
Taylor series
