(September, 2008)
Participants in Building Dreams, which fosters relationships between volunteer mentors and children of incarcerated parents, have the opportunity for regular group outings that also include family members of both mentors and mentees. Group activities supplement and support the time that mentors spend with their individual mentees.
Twenty-eight mentees from Greenville, Pickens, and Oconee counties, mentors and family members, enjoyed a September visit to the Greenville Zoo. Employees of Kohl’s Department Stores volunteered their assistance to the event and Kohl’s also made a monetary donation to support the Building Dreams program.
