Jill McLeigh (BA, Journalism and Religious Studies, University of North Carolina; MS in Public Policy and Management, summa cum laude, Carnegie Mellon) is a research associate in Clemson University's Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life. While an undergraduate, Ms. McLeigh was a member of the editorial board of The Daily Tar Heel, an intern in North Carolina's governor's press office, and a volunteer Big Sister. After completion of her undergraduate degree, she served as a young adult volunteer in Belfast, Northern Ireland for the Presbyterian Church (USA). At Carnegie Mellon, she was a fellow in a training program supported by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Ms. McLeigh is currently the IFNL coordinator of Strong Communities programs at the Riley Center in Pelzer and for Building Dreams mentoring program for children of prisoners. Her principal area of interest is the role of faith-based organizations in community transformation and social support. Ms. McLeigh is the recipient of the 2007 award for community service from the South Carolina Professional Society on Abuse of Children.
