The Office of
Student Financial Aid is responsible for the awarding of aid to
United States residents and eligible non-citizens. This office
does not award any assistance to foreign students.
Foreign students are eligible for certain
forms of assistance through the University. If you are (or will
be) a graduate student, we suggest that you contact the Graduate
School for more information. Graduate and undergraduate students
alike, may also contact the Office of International Affairs
for information related to foreign student enrollment.
Below is the definition that Clemson University
uses to determine if a student is a United States citizen or eligible
non-citizen:
Citizen/Eligible Non-citizen
You must be one of the following to receive U.
S. federal aid or institutional scholarships:
- U. S. citizen
- U. S. national (includes natives of American
Samoa or Swain's Island)
U. S. permanent resident who has an I-151, I-551
or I-551C (Alien Registration Receipt Card)
If you are not in one of these categories, you must have an Arrival-Departure
Record (I-94) from the U. S. Immigration and Naturalization Service
(INS) showing one of the following designations in order to be
eligible:
