FEDERAL SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY GRANT (FSEOG). This program is available to full-time, first-time undergraduates who have exceptional financial need. Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress to receive FSEOG assistance. Awards are dependent on the level of federal funding received by Clemson University.
Application requires
the submission of the FAFSA. Forms received by the federal
processor by April 1 will receive priority consideration.
Follow-up documents, if required, should be submitted
promptly because FSEOG funds typically are depleted by
mid-summer.
FEDERAL ACADEMIC
COMPETITIVENESS AND NATIONAL SMART GRANTS. Two new
federal programs for Pell eligible students. Merit and

FEDERAL TEACH
GRANT. Through the College Cost Reduction and Access
Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance
for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program
that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students
who intend to teach in a public or private elementary
or secondary school that serves students from low-income
families. This program is new for 2008-09 (more details
to come).
CLEMSON UNIVERSITY
COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANT (CCSG). This program provides
grants to full-time students who perform 40 or more hours
of community service during the academic year. Students
may choose the community service project that best fits
their talents and schedule. Application requires the submission
of the FAFSA by April 1.
THE SOUTH CAROLINA NEED-BASED GRANT.
This program awards up to $2,000 to South Carolina residents
demonstrating financial need. Application requires the
submission of the FAFSA by April 1. (more
