Topic: Science Fiction For Children and Young Adults
Group: Suzanne Mondello, Corey Watson, Cedric Dawkins
I have loved science fiction since I saw my first Buck Rogers episode. It is a fun genre to explore because it has always caused me to ask many questions. It sparked my imagination, because most of the questions that I asked couldn’t be answered. As I look back, I wondered what other children thought about science fiction. I asked a few that I knew. They thought that it was mostly over their heads. They thought that it was mainly for adults. They seemed to like science fiction when it crossed with another genre. They liked the fight scenes and effects of The Matrix, but didn’t understand the story, you know, stuff like that. Except for a few cartoons and comic books, they don’t enjoy the genre as much as I did.
Upon the completion of this project we hope to:
*Introduce themes in science fiction for children and young adults.
*Give a list of authors that have penned science fiction works for children and young adults.
*Give a list of websites and articles on science fiction for children and young adults.
*Give a brief history of science fiction for young adults and what it has evolved/devolved into.

It is really hard to come by articles on science fiction for children and young adults but we are looking and we just got a lead from Mrs. Rollin.
As far as individual assignments go, Suzanne, in her infinite brilliance, has decided to construct the web page. Corey and myself will conduct the research and read what needs to be read and write what needs to be written. We will all provide input as to what we want on our web page.
