Activity One: Definition collage (15 minutes)

1. Get in groups of 2-3 around a computer 

2. Have one person log on
3. Students read various entries, sites on definition of SF

4.  Group compiles a 100-word collage defining SF, cutting and pasting bits from the on-line definitions, including ideas and/or quotes from SFE, and their own ideas.  (with parenthetical list of sources at end)
5. Group creates a name from themselves and posts their collage on-line on the CLE discussion board

Activity Two:  On-line Discussion of Defintions

1. Go to  MESSAGE GRID on Buckbeak server

2. In the box marked "Choose a Grid to View"  Find "SF Defintions."  (Also can look at "SF Lifeboat groups") to choose a group, raise issues, or suggest books and films.
3. Read prompts on Definitions and respond as a group or as individuals.There is also a place to put your own personal definition of SF.  There are 10 rows per issue.  You can either post a response to what someone else said, or start a new thread by entering your comment on a new row.
