Curriculum Summary

The Agricultural Mechanization and Business curriculum consists of 121 semester hours of agricultural engineering technology, agricultural and basic sciences, and business management, in addition to the University's general education requirements. Up to nine hours of electives are included in the curriculum, as well as an option to minor in agricultural business management (recommended) or any other listed minor. In this manner, students can tailor their program of study to meet individual career goals. The specific breakdown, by topic area can be seen below.

Degree Highlights

The major provides a program for students who desire training in areas relevant to dynamic agricultural enterprise. The program is organized with strength in both business management and technical support of agriculture and agribusiness. To produce well rounded individuals with good communication skills, the curriculum includes courses in the humanities, social sciences, English composition, and public speaking.

Career Opportunities

Graduates in Agricultural Mechanization and Business find meaningful and remunerative employment in a variety of situations directly and indirectly related to agricultural production, processing, marketing, and the many services connected therewith. Farming and technical sales in the agricultural, industrial, and heavy equipment industries are frequently chosen careers.
