Become an Ambassador

Qualifications
To qualify to become a CAFLS Student Ambassador you must:

  • Have been enrolled in CAFLS for at least one undergraduate semester and plan to remain enrolled.
  • Have and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA overall.
  • Complete the application and interview process.

Selection Process
Individuals are chosen based on their ability and willingness to devote time and effort to the program. Ambassadors must be responsible, enthusiastic, personable, and possess good communication skills. In addition, we are looking for individuals who will bring diversity to the group (why they selected to enroll in CAFLS, hometowns, career plans, majors, race, gender, year in school, talents, etc). When you submit your application you will register for an interview. This interview and selection process is managed by the current Student Ambassadors and controlled by their advisor.

Expectations
The Student Ambassador Program is a volunteer organization; however, the members of the group have specific duties and responsibilities to accomplish throughout the year in order to remain an ambassador and benefit from the experience. Time commitment varies from week to week and semester to semester.

Ambassadors are required to:

  • Attend and participate in all planned meetings and various events. Meetings are scheduled for various Mondays at 7:30pm. Scheduled meetings will be based on the University academic calendar and college events.
  • Have an active Clemson email account that is checked frequently for news, events and requests.
  • Maintain close communication with the CAFLS Student Services staff.
  • Be knowledgeable about our campus and the college.
  • Attend a retreat/training session.
  • Maintain the necessary point value to remain an ambassador.

  • Network with professionals, employers and alumni in the industry.
  • Participate in state, regional, and national professional conferences.
  • Expand leadership and communication skills.
  • Travel throughout the state, develop new friendships and give back to the college.
