MUSEUM BIRTHDAY OPEN HOUSE!
Come celebrate the 10 th birthday of the Bob Campbell Geology Museum and enjoy family oriented activities and party games all afternoon. Watch museum curators prepare fossils or bring in your own treasures for identification! Children can find gems and fossils in the sieving bin, make a ‘living fossil’ T-shirt, or an origami dinosaur. Birthday cake will be served at 2:00 pm, and museum staff will lead a geology hike through the garden at 3:30 pm.
Fee: FREE ADMISSION ($5 for T-shirt activity)

WILDLIFE HUNT!
The Garden is home to many birds, mammals, insects, and reptiles with its diverse natural habitats. We’ll learn about the animals that live here by looking for their homes & nests, tracks, scat, and may even get the opportunity to observe some! The program will be geared toward 3 th – 5 th grade students and will include and exploration of owl pellets.
Fee: $10 per student ($8 for members)

FALL COLOR HIKE
Enjoy the amazing fall color of the garden and look for other signs indicating the onset of colder months. This event is appropriate for all ages, however strollers and other wheeled devices are not recommended, as we will be off of conventional trails and crossing creeks. Inclement weather will cancel this event.

GEOLOGY IN THE GARDEN HIKE
Geology Museum educator, Christian Cicimurri, will lead this walk to visit rarely seen geological features of the garden. Please dress appropriately for an hour long walk. This event is appropriate for all ages, however strollers and other wheeled devices are not recommended, as we will be off of conventional trails and crossing creeks. Inclement weather will cancel this event.

SOUTHERN FOSSIL FANATICS
A Discovery of Paleontology in SC (5 th – 8 th grade students)
Explore the prehistoric history of South Carolina, including recent discoveries . Participants will “dig” into fossils, dinosaurs, and geologic time as they learn about ancient land and marine animals from our state. They will identify, and organize fossils into a collection of their own ; cast & paint a replica fossil of their choice; and make a fossil necklace . Junior Paleontologists will also work with museum curators to plan an exhibit in the Bob Campbell Geology Museum.
