At the heart of the festival and the conference was the annual Albert Hamilton Holt Shakespeare Lectures, a series of formal lectures and a panel discussion named for Albert Holt, English Professor Emeritus, who taught the Bard for some thirty-five years at Clemson. The lecture and discussion series was focused on the presentational techniques for Shakespearean performance and how these technologies influence what we see, hear, think, feel, teach and learn in the theaters of the mind, eye and ear. Several of the nation's most prominent Shakespeareans addressed these issues. These lecturers also introduced the performances with their usual "informances" an hour prior to curtain.
