Dr. Mónica Rojas de Massei is an Associate Professor of Spanish in The Department of Languages at Clemson University. She studied Social Communication in Córdoba, Argentina, where she worked as a journalist in educational radio programs and educational campaigns.
She received her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Iowa, where she worked in curriculum design, undergraduate and graduate Teaching, and as an editor of Torre de Papel, a refereed journal. She also taught at Middlebury College and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Dr. Massei has published several articles in refereed journals in her field of expertise, Hispanic Drama. Her book Escenarios de la memoria en el teatro contemporáneo español was published in May 2006 by Editorial Pliegos. She is currently working on a new book, Escenarios: A Dramatic Approach to Spanish and Hispanic Cultures, and developing a third manuscript Trazos: Critical and Creative Writing through Hispanic Art.
Dr. Massei is the Coordinator of the Spanish Section and the Director of Study Abroad Programs for the Department of Languages. Mónica is also Director of a semester study abroad program in Córdoba, Argentina and Academic Director of the Seville program.
