Jordan Ragsdale: "The Latin American Battlefield of Ideas: The Question of Social Progress"

"I did not know what to expect going to the SAMLA Convention since I had never been to one before. It was a good experience talking about social, political, and economic issues related to Latin America. Everybody there was so interested in what happens in countries around the world. It was an enriching exchange of ideas."

SAMLAderry

Derrison Steer: "Military Coups in Latin America: Politics through the Lives of Children"

"I am honored to have had the opportunity to present my research at a convention such as SAMLA. For my research I examined the influence and effect of politics on and through the lives of children in Latin American countries. I definitely gained great experience from this event and will always remember the unique research I presented."

SAMLAangela

Angela Escobar: "Un límite impredecible: las drogas y la economía latinoamericana en la balanza"

"Going to the SAMLA Convention was an incredible experience. It gave us a chance to present all of the hard work we had done over the past two semesters. Another rewarding aspect was that we got a chance to hear the comments of those listening to our presentations. Overall was a wonderful opportunity for us here at Clemson University."

Ashley Smith: Un límite impredecible: las drogas y la economía latinoamericana en la balanza"

"The SAMLA Convention provided an amazing opportunity for me not to only practice my linguistics skills on a professional level but be able to showcase the research I had worked hard on for a year. It also provided a distinctive networking opportunity and was a great way for the Department of Languages to bond and share an extraordinary experience."
