Laurence Lieberman is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry, most recently Carib’s Leap: New and Selected Poems (Peepal Tree Press, 2005), and three books of criticism, including Beyond the Muse of Memory: Essays on Contempory Poetry (University of Missouri Press, 1995). He is a emeritus professor of English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has served as a poetry editor at the University of Illinois Press since 1971.
