Planes, Trains, and Shuttles
The international airport at Greenville/Spartanburg
(GSP) is 45 minutes (45 miles) from Clemson. This airport is serviced
by American Eagle, Continental, Comair, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines,
United Express and US Airways. The airports in Atlanta
(ATL) and Charlotte
(CLT) are about a two-hour drive from the University. Clemson is
easily accessible off of Interstate 85 (10-minute drive). An AMTRAK
station is also located in Clemson with daily scheduled service.
Airport Shuttles are available. By calling 800-669-6463 you may make
reservation for pickup at any of the area airports. Rates vary by location
of pickup and number of people using the shuttle. When you call be sure
to mention that you are with the WAC conference so you get a discount.
Reservations for pickup from GSP must be made at least 24 hours in advance;
Charlotte and Atlanta reservations, 2-4 days in advance. Cancellation
fees apply.
Don't forget that websites like Expedia,
Orbitz, Priceline,
Student Universe, and Travelocity
may have good combination deals for flight, hotel accomodations, and
car rental.

Parking
If you are driving to Clemson, parking is free at the Martin Inn and
adjoining Madren Conference Center and at the Ramada Inn. If you plan
to park your vehicle on Clemson's campus, you do need to stop by the
Class
of 1944 Visitor's Center to pick up a one-day visitor's
parking pass or Parking
Services for a one-day or multiple-day visitor's parking
pass.
Accommodations
The Martin Inn is filling up fast, the Ramada as well as other area hotels still have plenty of rooms available. Be sure to ask for the WAC 2006 conference rate when you make reservations
at the Martin Inn or Ramada Inn!
The Martin Inn, located on Lake Hartwell with a view of the Blue Ridge
Mountains, is connected to the Madren Conference Center where we are hosting
the conference. Room reservations can be made by calling 1-888-654-9020.
Suites, single, and double rooms are available for a special conference
rate of $120 per night. Conference room rate includes a continental breakfast
and light refreshments in the hotel lobby. All rooms have high-speed Internet
access, coffee-maker, microwave, and refrigerator. Guests also have access
to the pool and tennis courts as well as Seasons Restaurant and Joe's
Place. Ask Martin Inn about special golfing rates and reserving a tee

The Ramada Inn, located approximately three miles from the conference
site on highway 123, is offering participants a special conference rate
of $68 per night. Rates include a continental breakfast, access to the
indoor pool and hot tub, a complimentary pass to Gold's Gym, and high-speed
Internet access. A shuttle will run from the Ramada Inn to the Madren
Center, the shuttle schedule will be posted soon. Visit the Ramada
